The EMR was built upon the strong code base of OpenMRS, the global community of developers, varied implementations by PIH in five countries, and many other superb implementations around the world. This project improved user experience, brought all improvements back to the free software community, provided great tools for new implementations, and advanced OpenMRS to the next level.</p>
